Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor, speaker, consultant and syndicated columnist. She is also an TV personality, author and author. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the business to NRT for $66 million. Then, shortly after she resigned from the company. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in all 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until today. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, the biggest being a $350,000 investment that was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of 10 children from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence was her mother. She was an exemplary homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover from one job to the next during Corcoran's early years. Her family frequently depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with contempt and disrespect, particularly after having consumed alcohol. Corcoran was struggling in school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended a Catholic primary school. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year before transferring to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
